Apple seeded the iOS 27.2 release candidate on Monday, October 19, six days after beta 4\. A release candidate is the build Apple expects to ship. Unless testers turn up a serious bug this week, what developers installed this morning is what every iPhone gets, probably within days.

The headline features haven't moved since beta 1\. Siri AI picks up French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish, the Apple TV app gets profiles, and Apple Music keeps its new black and white look. What isn't here matters as much: the redesigned Health app Apple previewed in the early betas stays out of the final release, and Apple says it is coming in a later update.

Release candidates landed for iOS, iPadOS, macOS Golden Gate, watchOS, tvOS, visionOS and HomePod software at the same time, along with updates for devices on older versions. Below are the builds, everything iOS 27.2 brings, and what to expect before it ships.

## iOS 27.2 RC (Build 24B115)

### What Changed Since Beta 4

Nothing you can see. Apple hasn't posted a list of RC changes, and neither 9to5Mac nor MacRumors found new features in this build, which is normal at this stage: the work between the last beta and the RC is bug fixing. The build number shows where things stand. Beta 4 was 24B5110a, and the RC is 24B115, the shorter format without the beta's extra digit and trailing letter that Apple uses for builds it plans to ship.

Apple sometimes follows up with a second RC if a late bug turns up, so 24B115 isn't guaranteed to be the final build. If it is, anyone on the RC will simply be on the public release when it arrives.

### Siri AI in Five More Languages

Siri AI launched in English only with iOS 27\. iOS 27.2 adds French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish, the expansion Apple said would arrive in October. To switch, go to Settings → Siri → Language and pick one of the new options. If you haven't joined yet, Settings → Siri → Try Siri AI (Beta) puts you on the waitlist.

The regional limits stay the same. Siri AI still isn't offered on iPhone in the European Union or mainland China, so French support doesn't reach France. Device support doesn't change either: you need an iPhone 15 Pro, any iPhone 16 or later, or iPhone Air. Our guide to [which iPhones get Siri AI](https://www.techbetweenthelines.com/which-iphones-actually-get-siri-ai-in-ios-27-and-what-you-will-see-on-each-one/) covers what each model gets.

### Profiles in the Apple TV App

The Apple TV app on iPhone and iPad now supports profiles, so a shared Apple Account no longer means one shared Up Next list. Profiles are created from the account settings in the TV app. Each profile gets a name, a content rating, and an option to mark it as a child profile. Child profiles start at PG, and you can change the age rating from there.

The same settings screen adds a toggle for sign language interpretation, which turns on interpreted versions of shows and movies where they're available.

### Call Context Reminds You About Anniversaries

Call Context, the Apple Intelligence feature that shows reminders when you make a call, now covers anniversaries. Call a contact who has an anniversary saved in Contacts and the Phone app reminds you before the conversation starts.

It only works if the date is saved. Open the contact, tap Edit, tap Add Date, change the label to Anniversary and enter the date.

### Apple Music's New Look

Apple Music drops its red and pink. The app icon is now white with a black Apple Music logo, and it flips to black with a white logo in Dark Mode. Inside the app, the selected tab is highlighted in blue instead of red, Music widgets use a plain black background, and the section list at the top of the Library tab is black and white. Beta 3 introduced the new logo and beta 4 finished the rest, so the RC is the first build that should match the public release.

### Podcasts Reorganizes Up Next

In Apple Podcasts, Up Next is now called New Episodes, with a separate Continue Playing row directly below it. Episodes you've already started now sit apart from new releases from the shows you follow.

### Smaller Changes Worth Knowing

- **Group FaceTime:** Dual Capture now works in group calls.
- **Siri Excluded Apps:** Settings → Siri → App Access is now Excluded Apps, and the new Add Apps button lets you exclude several apps at once. Excluded apps stay out of Siri, Search and suggestions.
- **CarPlay Ultra themes:** In supported cars, you can pick a wallpaper, gauge style and color.
- **Brightness and volume sliders:** The redesigned sliders from beta 2 are in the RC.
- **Clock:** Alarm times show a.m. and p.m. in smaller type next to the time.
- **App Tracking Transparency in the EU:** Apps in the European Union can use a new expanded tracking prompt and ask again once a year. Apple's notes say the expanded prompt is required in France, Germany, Italy, Poland and Romania.

### The Health App Stays as It Is

The redesigned Health app with its Insights and Longevity tabs, health age and Quest lab scheduling is not part of iOS 27.2\. Apple removed the preview in beta 4, as its beta 1 notes said it would, and the RC keeps the current Health app. Apple says the redesign is coming in a later update this year.

If you tested the preview, there's nothing to do. Data you entered during the beta stays on your iPhone and can be viewed in Settings. Our [beta 4 coverage](https://www.techbetweenthelines.com/ios-27-2-beta-4-health-app-pulled-apple-music-icon/) explains what testers saw when it went away.

### iOS 27.2 Is the Update HomeView Needs

If you ordered HomeView, this is the release to watch. Setting it up requires an iPhone or iPad on iOS 27.2, and HomeView ships November 13, so 27.2 should be out well before the first ones arrive.

## iPadOS 27.2 RC (Build 24B115)

iPadOS 27.2 gets the same changes as iPhone: Siri AI in five more languages, Apple TV app profiles, the new Apple Music design, the Podcasts reorganization and the current Health app. The iPad also keeps the contextual Siri popup added earlier in the 27.2 betas.

## macOS Golden Gate 27.2 RC (Build 26B118)

The main change on Mac is Siri AI in French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish, matching iPhone and iPad. Apple Music and Podcasts get the same redesign as on iPhone.

One bug to watch: in beta 4, windows in apps built on Electron (Slack, Discord and Visual Studio Code are common examples) could stop responding to drags until you restarted the Mac. It isn't yet clear whether the RC fixes it, so check before you install on a Mac you rely on.

## watchOS 27.2 RC (Build 24S116)

watchOS 27.2 is a bug fix release so far. No new Apple Watch features have been reported in the betas or the RC.

## tvOS 27.2 RC (Build 24K120)

tvOS 27.2 is the update that brings Siri AI, as a beta, to Apple TV 4K (2nd generation) and later, so the new $299 Apple TV 4K isn't the only way to get it. tvOS never got a fourth beta, so this is its first new build since beta 3.

## visionOS 27.2 RC (Build 24N118)

visionOS 27.2 is available for Apple Vision Pro, with no new features reported.

## HomePod Software 27.2 RC (Build 24K120)

HomePod Software 27.2 is out as a release candidate too, sharing the tvOS build number. It is the version HomePod mini 2 works with, and Apple has not listed new features for existing HomePods.

## Release Candidates for Older iPhones and Macs

Apple also seeded release candidates for devices staying on older software: iOS 26.7.2 and iPadOS 26.7.2 RC (build 23H127), macOS 26.7.2 RC 3 (build 25G330) and macOS 15.8.2 RC 3 (build 24H230). Updates like these typically carry security and bug fixes for devices that aren't moving to the 27 releases.

---

The release candidates are out now for registered developers and members of the Apple Beta Software Program. On iPhone or iPad, go to Settings → General → Software Update → Beta Updates and choose the iOS 27 developer or public beta. On a Mac, the same option is in System Settings → General → Software Update. Apple said the new Siri AI languages would arrive in October, which points to a public release in the last week of the month. As always, wait for the public release if this is the only iPhone you have. You can follow every build on our [Latest Apple Software](https://www.techbetweenthelines.com/latest-apple-software/) page.
