How We Test
How we test the products we review, and what you can expect from every Tech Between the Lines review.
A review is only useful if it reflects how a product actually fits into a real life. Here is how we get there.
We use it like you would
Products go into our real daily routine before we publish: the charger on the nightstand, the case on the phone we carry, the calendar on the kitchen wall. We don't review from a spec sheet or a single afternoon.
We check the claims
Specifications, compatibility and feature claims are checked against the maker's own documentation and, for Apple features, against Apple's support pages. When a product doesn't live up to a claim, the review says so.
We tell you where it came from
Some products we buy ourselves. Others are review units sent by the maker. When a company sends us a product, we disclose it in the review. Sending a product never buys coverage, a rating or a publish date, and we may decide not to review it at all.
We end with a clear call
We aim to finish every review with who should buy it, who should skip it, and the catch, so you can decide quickly.
Buy links
Reviews may include links to retailers, some of which earn us a commission. That never changes the verdict. See our Affiliate Disclosure and Editorial Standards.
